A PLACE TO FEEL HOME AMONG NATURE
Espinheiro Negro has 17 hectares of extension, 90% of which is covered by native vegetation of Atlantic Forest, specifically Dense Ombrophylous Forest in diferent stages of succession, sheltering a rich diversity of flora and fauna typical of the biome. Here you can enjoy peace in the midst of nature, go hiking and observe the wildlife.
CONSERVATION
Other activities are practiced together with ecotourism aiming the enviroment preservation, such as: collection and disposal for recycable waste, use of compost for storage organic material, solar energy system and biodigesters for sewage treatment. Sítio Espinheiro Negro also maintains a small vivarium of native seedlings for local reforestation. Our doors are always open for development of environmental education work with the local population and also with municipal schools.
BIRDWATCHING
Birdwatching tourism is the main activitie practiced in Sítio Espinheiro Negro. The practice has been growing in Brazil and in the world calling observers to stay next nature to observe the most varied bird species.
NEAR THE BIRD FEEDERS
Near the headquarters are arrenged feeders to attract lots of colorful species of birds of the Atlantic Forest, such as tanagers, toucans and hummingbirds.
ATLANTIC FOREST TRAILS
Espinheiro Negro has some easilly accessible trails in the middle of Atlantic Forest to be explored by the visitors. Along the trails you can observe a great variety of flora and fauna.
